Ultimedia Are Getting Ready to Tackle The Manchester 10k!
That’s right, the Great Manchester Run 2018 is only days away! Eeek!
Our competitors are gearing up both mentally and physically to conquer the Ultimedia Team Challenge on the 20th May, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
For the last few weeks and months our runners have been readying themselves with intensive training - pouring blood, sweat and let’s face it, probably a few beers tears into their training runs. All in preparation for the city’s biggest and best weekend of running.
For a cause close to our hearts
We know that Alzheimer's disease can have a huge impact on all of us in some way, which is why we are proud to be running on behalf of the the Alzheimer’s Society, and to support a cause close to all of our hearts.
Sadly, almost all of us have experienced a family member or friend who has suffered from, or been lost to this cruel disease. Which is why the team here at Ultimedia have decided to challenge ourselves in support of the Alzheimer's Society, a charity that’s aiming to transform the landscape of dementia forever.
We want to raise as much money and awareness for the Alzheimer's Society as possible, in the hopes that one day a society is created where those affected by dementia are not only supported and accepted, but are also able to live their lives without prejudice or fear.
All of our team members started their training completely from scratch, and we’re now getting ready to give it all we’ve got, to cross that finish line on Deansgate for a great cause!
Now it’s fair to say that we may have gotten a tiny bit competitive along the way. Maybe… just a little.
So, in the spirit of healthy competition we’ve put together…
The ultimate Ultimedia racing league table:
We did it!
The team here at Ultimedia powered through the blistering heat of the day, and with aching legs and sore feet managed to cross that magical finish line to complete the Manchester 10k challenge!
It was certainly a buzzing atmosphere in the city thanks to the cheering Manchester crowds supporting all the runners every step of the way, as they passed by some of the most famous sights around the city.
Our Ultimedia 10K challenge champion was Phil Chapman who crossed the line with an impressive time of 54 minutes and 48 seconds!
Everyone on the team put so much effort into the race and each and every member has helped to smash our charity target - raising £1405 for the Alzheimer’s Society, with even more offline donations still to come in.
We also came 11th out of 32 teams in the Small to Medium Business Challenge - not too shabby!
We want to give a huge thank you to all our Ultimedia 10k team challenge competitors for their determination and drive, and also to everyone who donated and supported us along the way.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Let’s get ready to sign up for next year.
Don’t forget you can still donate to support us and a great cause right here.
